Second Chance Youth Services offers an Independent Living home for young men and women ages 18 to 21 years of age that are in need of independent living skills as they begin life as adults.
SCYS empowers youth to become successful adults, independently studying and working to become a contributing member of society. Together we celebrate the success of a high school graduation, a new life of sobriety or a first job. These steps to success may mean one less youth addicted or incarcerated, burdening their communities. SCYS offers a second chance, a place to start over, making positive life choices.
SCYS offers the following services maximizing the potential for success:
Can you imagine no one to share life’s joys with? Some youth are unable to return to their homes or community for various reasons. For those youth SCYS offers ongoing support. SCYS opens it doors to all graduates during the holiday seasons. Youth are invited to return to share Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas activities or summer camp outs. Youth are encouraged to attend graduation ceremony of roommates. Additionally it is our hope that weddings will be held here and new baby’s will come home from the hospital for moms recovery. SCYS intends to grow its network of support, continuing to mentor youth through the years well beyond their stay.
